Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
- Peel and slice the apples. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook for 5–7 minutes until softened.
- Mix cornstarch with water, stir into the apples, and cook another 1–2 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Open the cinnamon rolls and set aside the icing packets. Flatten each cinnamon roll slightly.
- Arrange a layer of flattened cinnamon rolls in the bottom of the baking dish.
- Spread half the apple mixture over the rolls.
- Repeat with another layer of cinnamon rolls and the remaining apples.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Warm the icing packets slightly and drizzle over the top before serving.
Serve warm for a gooey cinnamon-apple dessert breakfast or sweet treat.
